Kim Bell

Administrative Asst./Technician

Originally from New Jersey, Kim has a strong love for helping animals.  She received a degree in Business at Rutgers University before completing the masters program in Biology at Southern University.  She started working at KAH in 2005, before leaving for Florida to fulfill her dream of working in a zoo.  She worked as a zookeeper for the birds and reptiles.  She returned back to KAH in 2012.  Kim has a houseful with 1 chihuahua and 4 cats.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, going to the beach, traveling to visit family, and gardening.

Janet Tietjen

Head of Surgery / Technician

Since an early age, Janet has been enthusiastic about learning new ways to help animals.  After years of working in the veterinary field, Janet came to KAH in 2008.  After work, she is greeted at home by her several furry, scaled, and feathered family members.  When she isn't working, she enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and working with the developmentally disabled.

Amber Champion


Amber began working with animals in 1998 as a veterinary assistant.  Over the years she gained extensive experience in client relations and animal care.   She has been affiliated with KAH since 2000 as a receptionist and veterinary technician.  She has a passion for animals, especially Labrador Retrievers.   Amber loves caring for patients and communicating with their families.   In her spare time, Amber enjoys spending time with her three daughters, Autumn, Ivy, & Shay, and their six labs.  Her hobbies include hiking, fishing, four-wheeling,  and going to dog shows. 

Karen Taubner


Karen joined our team in 2014.  She received her degree in biology from University of Delaware and later obtained her veterinary technician certification in Connecticut.  Karen loves all animals, however she has a special affinity for cats.  In her free time, she enjoys gardening, reading and watching movies.  Her yearly goal is to read 52 books and see 52 movies in the theater.

Maggie Digan


Maggie joined KAH in July of 2018.  She received her associates degree in general studies of science from Manchester Community College in 2014.   She has been working in the veterinary field since 2015.  Maggie loves all animals, especially dogs, cats, and reptiles.  In her spare time, Maggie enjoys hiking with her dog Riley, snowboarding, and riding her dirtbike.

Amanda Pelosi


Amanda started working at KAH in September 2019 as a receptionist/assistant. She graduated in May of 2019 with her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science concentrating in Equine. When she isn’t working she’s either spending time outdoors, riding her horse, Dozer, and competing in barrel racing, or playing with her Australian Cattle Dog, Trigger.
